Mobile Health Advisory Group

Who We Are

As a newly formed advisory group to the IT Steering Committee comprised of clinical, technology and policy subject matter experts, we are here to address the growing demand for mobile health (mHealth) solutions at UCLA.

The scope of governance for this group is limited to mobile device and applications use within healthcare, medical education and patient related research at UCLA. We provide guidance and strategic support for operationalizing mHealth use by:

  • UCLA providers, staff, and medical students
  • Patients receiving care by UCLA's hospitals and clinics
  • UCLA patients participating in research projects

We currently do not provide the following services:

  • Centralized coordination of UCLA's mobile health research efforts
  • Direction for non-patient, non-clinician use of mobile technology on UCLA's academic campus
Please refer to the scope of UCLA's existing campus mobile governance committee under Rose Rocchio: UCLA Mobile Steering Committee

What We Do

We meet regularly as a group and in subgroups to:

  • Track, review and collectively understand current and future mHealth project needs at UCLA
  • Identify mHealth project risks, barriers, critical path items and facilitate any escalations needed
  • Discuss any key decisions or prioritizations needed
  • Discuss UCLA's future strategic mHealth priorities
  • Identify and escalate business needs for mHealth IT solutions
  • Establish rules of the road, policy and guidelines as needed for new, emerging domains of mHealth

Subgroups created so far are:

  • Clinic Tablets
  • Integration Strategy
  • Communications
