Internal medicine residents preview CareConnect

Future users of CareConnect are catching their first glimpses of the electronic health record system about eight months before the first scheduled go-live at UCLA Health System.

The CareConnect team presented an overview of computerized physician order entry and documentation functionalities to a group of resident physicians from the department of internal medicine in October at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. CareConnect is set to be implemented at our Westwood hospitals in October 2012.

Michael Pfeffer, MD, physician catalyst for CareConnect,
explains the system's features to medical residents.
About 25 residents attend a demo presented by the
CareConnect team in October.

Annie Zhang, MD, (center) asks Ernesto Chang, CareConnect's
application manager for orders, (left) a question during the
lunchtime demo.

Discussion focuses on how order sets will function in
CareConnect.

Amy Metzger, MD, (left) participates in an active discussion
about how CareConnect will be used in patient care.
