CareConnect Remote

CareConnect Remote can be used by authorized users to access CareConnect from a device that is off the network. In order to connect, you will need the following:

  • Mednet Username and Password

  • DUO for multi-factor authentication 

  • Citrix Receiver or Workspace App
    • Mac: Instructions for Install | Citrix Workspace App
    • Windows: Instructions for Install | Download Citrix Receiver

As of January 31, 2020, CareConnect Remote will work with the below (and newer) versions of Citrix and browsers/operating systems. 

  • Windows: Citrix Receiver v. 4.9.6 (or newer). 

  • Mac: Citrix Workspace current version with MacOS 10.14 (or newer)
    Note, Citrix Workspace App is recommended for Mac.

  • Browsers / Operating Systemss
    • Chrome 69 / Windows 7
    • Chrome 70 / Windows 10
    • Firefox 47 / Windows 7
    • Firefox 67 / Windows 10
    • IE 11 / Windows
    • Safari 9 / iOS 9

Given the recent COVID-19 pandemic, many providers are interested in offering scheduled outpatient video visits. For those UCLA providers that have received approval from their clinical leadership to start using video visits, please see our Video Visits page for more information.

Please be aware, Video Visits can be held remotely for Physicians who are unable to be on a device within our network by using CareConnect Remote and Haiku.

When starting a Video Visit, you will be prompted to Handoff to Haiku. Complete the following to prepare your mobile device for this handoff:

  1. Make sure you are on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad only)*.
  2. Download Haiku and follow steps to configure. Review installation and setup guide →
  3. Open your iPhone’s settings and scroll down to click on Haiku.
    1. Make sure the camera is clicked on
    2. Make sure the microphone is clicked on
    3. Click on Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications
  4. Enable push notifications in your Haiku app.
    1. Launch the Haiku app
    2. Tap More and select Notifications
    3. Tap the settings gear at the top right
    4. Scroll down and turn on Start Video Visit (this is the only push notification that must be enabled)

Once you’ve completed these steps, you will be ready to take your Video Visit calls remotely!

*Please note using Video Visits remotely will only work on an iOS device and is not compatible with an Android device at this time.
